Introducing the New Hund Trust Center: Our Commitment to Stronger Security and Privacy
Effective Date:
Welcome to our new Trust Center. We've rebuilt our legal and privacy documentation from the ground up to provide greater clarity, transparency, and to align with modern data protection standards. These changes reflect our deep commitment to protecting your data and earning your trust. Below is a summary of the most significant updates.
Key Highlights of the Update
- A Centralized Trust Center: All our security, privacy, resilience, and legal documents are now organized in one place, making it easier for you to find the information you need.
- New Master Subscription Agreement (MSA): We have replaced our previous Terms of Service with a comprehensive MSA. This is a more standard and robust agreement for a B2B SaaS provider, clearly outlining the rights and responsibilities of both parties.
- Enhanced Privacy & No Third-Party Trackers: Our new Privacy Policy is stricter and more protective. We have completely removed all third-party tracking and analytics services, such as Google Analytics and Hotjar, which were referenced in our previous policy. Your activity on our site is not shared with these services.
- Fairer Partnership Terms: Our new agreements are built on respect for our customers. We now provide at least 30 days' notice for any material changes, a significant improvement over our prior terms. We have also formalized a strictly opt-in policy for using customer logos, ensuring we never use your name without your prior written consent.
- Formal Data Processing Addendum (DPA): To meet global data protection regulations like GDPR, our DPA, which includes the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), is now incorporated directly into our MSA.
- New Service Level Agreement (SLA): We now have a formal SLA that documents our uptime commitment and provides for service credits.
- Responsible AI Principles: We have introduced a new policy that makes our unequivocal commitment that we will never use any customer data to train or fine-tune generative AI models, and stipulates our future guidance on the use of such generative models.
Detailed Breakdown of Changes
From Terms of Service to Master Subscription Agreement (MSA)
Our previous Terms of Service (last updated in 2016) has been retired and replaced by a Master Subscription Agreement (MSA). This new agreement is structured to be clearer and more relevant for our customers. It now formally incorporates other key documents by reference, including our Acceptable Use Policy, Service Level Agreement (SLA), and Data Processing Addendum (DPA), creating a single, cohesive legal framework.
Privacy Policy and Data Handling
Our new Privacy Policy represents a significant enhancement of our commitment to your privacy.
Previously, our policy from 2018 disclosed the use of third-party services like Google Analytics and Hotjar for website analytics and user behavior analysis. Our new policy removes these services entirely. We no longer use any third-party cookies for tracking or analytics and have switched to a self-hosted, privacy-first analytics platform that does not track you across sites.
Furthermore, we have clarified our role as a Data Processor and strengthened our commitment to Purpose Limitation, ensuring your data is used only for the delivery and improvement of the Hund service. The policy also raises the age for which we knowingly collect information from 13 to 16, in line with modern standards.
Data Processing Addendum (DPA) and International Transfers
Reflecting the requirements of GDPR and the "Schrems II" decision, we now provide a formal DPA that is automatically part of our MSA. For customers transferring data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, this DPA incorporates the latest Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). To provide further transparency, we have also published a Data Transfer Impact Assessment (TIA) to assist with your own compliance obligations.
Additional New Policies
To provide even more clarity, we have introduced several new documents that did not exist previously:
- Service Level Agreement (SLA): Formally documents our uptime promises and your remedies.
- Acceptable Use Policy (AUP): Clearly defines the rules for using our service to prevent abuse.
- Sub-processors List: A transparent, up-to-date list of the third-party services we use to provide our service.
- Responsible AI Principles: Our forward-looking commitment to the ethical use of any model-driven features.
